FIigure Sculpture, 2024, carved and stained Beech wood, 30 x 30  x 5 cm

The Figure Sculpture series explores play as a form of thought in adulthood, and its connection to memory. Drawing on the visual language of both Western European and West African play culture - Ludo, Cuboro, Awalé -  each interactive sculpture forms a self-contained system governed by its own implicit rules. Playing thus becomes an introspective and meditative act.
